I am Miklós Károly from Szeged, the county town of county Csongrád in Hungary.
I have been organizing International folkdance festivals in this region since 1999. The International County-Wandering Festival was organized for the first time in 2002.

During the festival the participant groups travel from town to town or village to city In the region, that's why its name is County-Wandering. There are some villages and small towns in this area (County of Csongrád, Bács-Kiskun, Békés, and Jász-Nagykun Szolnok County) which act as host to these groups with a lunch or dinner, and they will expect.

The festival can receive amateur groups of children, youth and adults.
The event can receive 5, maximum 10 groups and it's waiting for the registration of:

• folk dance ensembles,
• majorette groups with or without orchestra,
• groups of "flag-twirling",
• orchestras (fanfares, winds-orchestras, drummers etc.).

International County-Wandering Festival offers:

I would like to inform you that we have a website (www.countywandering.gerisoft.hu) where you kind find details, application form and other useful information about the International County-Wandering Festival which has been announced already.
The maximum number of participants is 50.
Certainly not only dancers/singers/musicians etc. can come with the group but also relatives, friends etc. who are not active members of the dance group. The same conditions apply to them too.

Festival conditions:

• The cost of travel to the festival and back to your home will be charged on the group.
• If, the group Bus arrival, during the periods of the festival, it covers the the costs of travelling by bus in Hungary
  In the shape of fuel: in 2008: 4 night - 100 litres, in 2008: 5 night - 125 litres, in 2008: 7 night - 175 litres,
  in 2008: 8 night - 200 litres.
• During the festival, your invitant will assure you three times meal a day.
• Everybody will get packed meal for the journey back home.
• An English speaking guide will be assured to each group during the festival, from arrival till departure.
• Number of performances during the International County-Wandering Festival: 3-10  between.
• Duration of performance should be around min. 20, max. 25 minutes.
• All performances will take place on open stage.
• During your stay in Hungary you might travel around  400-800 km altogether.
• There is a very important term of participation: the event can receive the registration of groups who can assume
  their own accomodation and travel expences; every other costs will be covered by the event.

It's important that if you accept the condition of the festival please informe me in writting and send me the application form. After that I will send the invitation letter. After that you should remit the cost of the accommodation.

Festival pay:
• 3 times meal a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
• packed meal for the journey back home will be assured.
• if the group arrives by bus the festival covers the cost of travelling during the period of the festival in Hungary
  in the shape of fuel: in 2008: 4 night - 100 litres, in 2008: 5 night - 125 litres, in 2008: 7 night - 175 litres,
  in 2008: 8 night - 200 litres.

Group pay:
• the group pays for its own travel and accommodation;
• accommodation (Hostel) 16,6 euro/day/person.
• accommodation (Pension) 21 euro/day/person.
• accommodation (Hotel) 26 euro/day/person.
